NOTE FROM A LOVELY FIREND

Soon I'll join the history books
With my beautiful looks
I and my colleagues
Who had helped you through many leagues

Though we never wished to depart
We must for a new start
Either in a new class
Or simply another verse

So I wish you well
As the hero in you refuses to quell

Till we meet again hopefully at your crest
Your lovely friend May Thirty-first

COME AGAIN

'I'll make you prosper
If you make me your leader
You'll never suffer
We shall voyage together

I grew up among you
Know what you are going through
Together we set traps
Trail crabs on their laps
And whenever fate smiles on us
It's time to merry and rejoice'

This we fell for
Creeping majestically into his claw
Now we like millipede
Lack the fast-lane speed

But for him do we wait
Till all this will be late
And the true him
Comes again with his team

OUR LEADER'S ADDRESS

As your new admiral
And administrator of this cathedral
On whom lies the responsibility
To spread this message to humanity
I now present to you my new band
With whom I shall seize this land

Immorality
Secretary
And head of strategy
Selfishness
Special adviser on state matters
Hatred
Coordinator and band head

These men
Shall with their pen
And action
Carry out our mission
Of poverty
Illetracy
Hunger
And anger

They shall at any point
Recruit additional assistant
To fortify this ministry
Till it reaches every part of this territory

Thanks for your co-operation
Your leader in this operation
Corruption

BY YOUR GRACE

Lord grant me the knowledge
To know that your favouring me is merely a privilege
That neither do I deserve it
Nor is it my rightful benefit

Help me to always keep in mind
That I'm neither the best in the land
Nor am I the worst you could see
For you to had blessed me

But out of love
My problems you decided to solve
And kept me alive
To sing your praise everyday of my life

Let my heart be opened
And my sight never shortened
That I may see and know that people better
With wonderful character
People older
Or younger
Richer
Or poorer
And with better health
Had left the face of this earth

But by your grace
I'm still on this race

This I ask of you ancient of days
That I may praise you always

DON'T WRITE HER OFF

...dedicated to all who the world had named BARREN

To her, she is that male dog
That bedbug
Whose mission is to suck
And suck
And produce nothing to evaluate
Their certificate

To him, she is that baseless basket
Used in place of a fishing net
Which can never catch a fish
Till the day it will perish

But to God, she is that priceless daughter
Who he alone can make a mother

THE FUTURE LEADERS

O beloved country
O cherished territory
Behold your children's fears
See them in tears

Abuse had become the order of the day
Child labour all the way
From the north
To the south
Through the east
Or the west
Their stories are similar
Just like the K in every mathematical formula

Yet they are the future leaders
Leaders whose tomorrow dwells today in the gutters

SAINTHOOD CERTIFICATION

Of the careful observation
Of our present situation
Comes the deduction
That many contributed a portion
To the deterioration
Malnutrition
Confusion
And incessant commotion
Suffered in our nation
Through individual action
At every position
Or the failure to show dedication
For individual function

A further examination
Shows a revelation
Where none wants condemnation
But all, salutation
So each bears a blame apportioning qualification
A sainthood certification

NO TO STIGMATIZATION

Infected
Contracted
He was once like you
With aspirations to push through

Affected
Unexpected
Never a license to stigmatization
It tends him faster to ejection

BE CONSCIOUS

Might
Height
Both can't hold
When HIV/AIDS wants to unfold

Fortitude
Attitude
Both will save
When HIV/AIDS comes to enslave

TAKE HEED...

Being too comfortable in comfort
Makes you liable for sport
Being too serene in serenity
May lead you into calamity

Lovely it is to relax in your relaxation
Danger looms if it lacks moderation
Wonderful it is to enjoy in times of enjoyment
Only if there is control over the moment

HER LOST THRONE

Clasped
Slapped

Out of fear
She embraced silence through the year
Bearing alone
The agony of her lost throne

Wednesday 22 May 2013

HER TALE

Smitten
Stricken
What God had joined together
Let nothing put asunder

Then mid-day Friday
'Till we meet again at the glorious bay'

WE ALL HAVE A PAST

Every man has a past
A past with different casts
Some were vast
But they didn't last
Others were blast
Causing injuries that didn't heal fast

Shall we then hold on to it
And allow the present slip into the pit?
Shall we sit at its feet
And watch its heat
Consume every bit of feat
That we were meant to hit
In the nearest minute?
Shall we continue to dance to its beat
Lavish in its treat
Till our eyelids meet
Never again to quit?

THE GOOD FOOD

That I will live long
And never hear sorrowful tune from the gong
That I will climb the ladder of old age
And at no step hear the dirge
Is a reality
Lacking actuality
A truth
Denied of birth

But the good food
Is when life becomes rude
And drowning
Becomes the only path existing
God will uphold
If to him, I can hold

MY FALL FOR CREATION

Gladly I accepted to be part of the operation
Pledging my full support for the mission
To carry out every required action
Till it's logical conclusion

Soon I loose my concentration
And followed the path of creation
Yet intact was my vision
No distraction
For my aspiration

Only a transformation
In the mode of operation
Will lead me to my destination
With my new connection

IF ONLY...

NO was her first note
But you remained stubborn like a goat
If only she stood by her NO
If only she didn't yield when you refused to go
So she accepted your proposal
To be your everlasting pal

Now she is nothing but a rag
Your prettiest punching bag
You had made marriage a pit
Scaring angels away from it
And when they call on great husbands
Confidently you raise your hands
Beats your chest
Blow your trumpet louder than the rest
With head high
Like an eagle soaring in the sky

Oh brother, you are a shame to humanity
And like Judas, better you weren't existing on this entity

IT MUST COUNT

We casted
Cause we trusted
We approved
Cause we believed

'I am the saviour'
Won our favour
So we choose you
Of all that went through
To dry our salty rain
And make us reign

For yelling was our hobby
Wailing our lobby
In tears we dine
In fear we wine
And every morning
Depicts another day of suffering

From the streaming eyes of the lad
To the heavy heart of the old
And the fainting soul of the aged
We crave for peace
And long for justice
For the benefit
Of our mandate

THE GENESIS

At the meeting of the elders
And community leaders
Stood the master of masters
To address the greatest of matters

'I want to subdue the earth' he said
'I want humanity under my control' he continued
'Whom shall I send' he asked
'Who shall go for me' he concluded

'I am the best for this mission
The only one with concoction
That will catapult us to our destination
With no crack in our formation

I shall make them hate education
Take away their youth's affection
Makes their government starve it with utmost passion
And create divisions
Among their institutions'

'You have spoken well illiteracy
What a fantastic delicacy
But I smell fallacy
I don't spend such currency'

Then hunger spoke forth
'I am the giver of wealth
The upholder of breath
And faith
Let me go to earth
In no time this mission will be done with'

'O my beloved hunger
Beautiful as your are
Many are immune to your anger
And that's not what I'm after
I want a better offer'

'If I should go on this operation
I go not as CORRUPTION
For man is the most intelligent of creation
He shall fathom my mission
And proffer lasting solution
To my destruction

But to each, I'll go in different dimension
To those in government, misappropriation
Or better still wealth creation
The legislator, budget allocation
Men in black, check-point collection
'Whey your particulars' for simplification
The government worker, something to set your papers in motion
The manager, zero addition
Those in business, profit generation
The student, malpractice in examination
'Egun' for familiarization
And to that child on errand, tip off to action'

DON'T ROCK

Rock this ship
Not with your lips
Or below your hips

They can't keep
Or avoid its slip
Into the deep

Creeps
Into clips
Of such ships
Shows none to withstand the incessant whips
On their trips

For if you sow with strip
At its tip
You shall reap

FORGIVE MY HURT

I took garri and groundnut
Because my favorite I found not
So with happiness I strongly fought
Till I heard of Lot
Who sets on fire a heavy pot
Cooking with all seriousness water and nut
For he had nothing to slot
His favorite never a thought

Again I woke up hot
Not fit for sport
Two weeks I'll be out to sort
And thwart with wart
Oh! what a dot
For I had perfected my plot
For the downfall of THE WROUGHT
The reigning champion of the court

Then I watched Ade Short
Fell while taking the shot
Though he had no rot
Still he fell on the spot

O father, forgive my hurt
Insensitivity I had made my hut

TO THE DREAMED EMPRSS

Your parents went through stress
That you might impress
And receive sublime address
Wherever you press
And they, people will bless
For achieving success
In this tough process
Of producing a noblesse
Even when you weren't born a princess

But you choose to be mindless
And careless
To express your thankfulness
With mess
And possess In fullness
Distress
Of all that is available to access
Now you are juiceless
And useless

But you can still redress
Depart from this part of less
Grab a stunning yes
And express your prowess
Like the dreamed empress

MY WONDER

There are no more searching sisters
But loads of unengaged brothers
No more free spinsters on the land
But lots of unattached bachelors on ground

'I'm in a relationship' they'll say
'Double dating never our way'

Still there is no drastic swell
In the number of wedding bell
No rapid rise in the population
Of marriage registration

So I question
Are we rearing sapphics in this nation?
Are our damsels
Homosexuals?

HER STORY

He was her first
And still her best
Second to none
Making the union fun
A fulfilled dream
She found in him
Behold on this ground
Resides her promised land

Then he became the cause of her pain
The reason she is insane
And at work she tops the list of 'soon to be relieve'
For her continuous sick leave

Two homes
She now roams
First her matrimonial
Next the hospital

Still she can't go away
Forever she must stay
For better...for worse
After batter...see a nurse

Stop domestic violence
It's stack nonsense
Bashing not a part of the commitment
You'll answer on the day of judgement

I WANTED TO MARRY

I wanted to marry
But when I remembered the gory story
Of Mary
And how she lived with injury
Courtesy of Harry
And his new love, Fury
I became bleary

When will every man learn to manage his fury
Respect his sweetie when angry
Bury every armory
And every act of slavery
Taking away the cheery
From the dearie
Whom he paid her dowry

When will he learn to be a berry
And not a cherry
Make her merry
And not weary

I LOVE THIS GAME

'If this' can't produce the result
'If that' can't stop the fault
It is neither addition
Nor subtraction
Neither multiplication
Nor division
Where formulas are constant
And they produce results at instant

It is the round leather game
Where the best might be put to shame
Where the better team
Might win only in the dream
Where book makers
Are most times liars

I love this game
Football is its name

OUR BROCHURE

We are people of culture
With history as our texture
And adventure, our pleasure
But we had lost our composure
And nurture
With great measure
Features that can't endure
But will only ensure
That as we mature
Our nomenclature
Becomes obscure
And our nature
Enjoys puncture
Seizure
Then closure

Oh what a brochure
We had developed for our structure

ITS NAME IS MAY

For thirty days I had stayed with you
Your journey together we had gone through
In times of glow
When the road was narrow
We never stayed apart
Sorry it's time to depart
For you to show your ability
And maturity
In handling every situation
As the journey takes another dimension

But I wont disappear
To reappear
Bigger and higher
A year later
Like my predecessor
Without handing you over to my successor

Behold your new friend
With whom your must learn to blend
Everyday
For the next thirty one days
Its' name is MAY

Happy New Month Ma/Sir
Congratulation on the journey so far
