INDEED THE HEN GETS WET

You life, you spent
That strife might depart from our tent
You went extra mile
That we might enjoy eternal smile
Indeed the hen gets wet
Is its feathers that cover its sweat

Our tomorrow
You painted with your rainbow
Your time and leisure
You spent nurturing our future
Indeed the hen gets wet
Is its feathers that cover its sweat

Our plain, you intend to rebrand
And make the new promised land
Class, you strive to annilate
Sex, you maintain shouldn't stop us from being mate
Indeed the hen gets wet
Is its feathers that cover its sweat

You shall forever remain in our heart
You fought to avoid things falling apart
Forever, you are our true hero
Go Madiba, go rest where there is no more sorrow
Indeed the hen gets wet
Is its feathers that cover its sweat

MY ISRAEL

The day we met shall ever remain memorable
The road we met shall remain fresh and unforgetable
If I had bowed to the power of friction
Nature will never forgive my submission

Your beauty is no measure
It's not merely of posture
Your smile, your touch
All is of a top-notch

From your hair
To your rear
You adorn a perfect artisty
Hats off to the creator, for implanting you on this territory

To you I make this pledge
Till earth losses every edge
You shall be my jewel to cherish
My israel to keep and nourish

THEY LIED

Within the populace
You promised a greater feat
Now on seat
You trail the path of crisis

Before the masses
You swore a better life
Behold their greater strife
Where is your sense of keeping promise?

In your say
You vowed to fulfill the dreams of heroes past
Now each has become a major cast
In your sorrow filled play

Before gods
You promised to do good
Soon nemesis will take you as food
If you revert not the way you play your cards

I ASK YOU

I ask you to marry me
That you might my wife
I ask you to marry me
And take the better part of my life

I ask you to marry me
That I might re-own my missing rib
I ask you to marry me
My dream whenever I lie in my crib

I ask you to marry me
Distance had done enough quake
I ask you to marry me
It's you I want to be seeing first every daybreak

I ask you to marry me
A perfect ending it will give to this show
I ask you to marry me
Please don't say NO

ALL ROUND ME

On the soil of my heart
The seed of your love shall germinate
Nothing shall pull us apart
Heaven, itself, approves of our being mate

In the river of my mind
Your thought shall take its swim
Like two birds of the same kind
Togetherness shall cease being a dream

In the space of my soul
Your being shall take its breath
Without you, I'm less than whole
Death alone, can separate us on earth

IN SILENCE

In silence
Abundant message makes a presence
For God is on ground
He awaits your gaze at his stand

In silence
You receive the living essence
God moves with the gentle breeze
His message comes with ease

In silence
You make better discoveries than science
There you will meet the giver of all
From him, every inspiration makes their fall

In silence
Avoid every absence
Then will you receive the inspiration
To achieve your aspiration

BLESSED AM I

My mother is a woman
My spouse, a woman
My sister tends towards being a woman
My daughter will someday become a woman
My nation is her, another woman
Nature itself is known as a woman
So blessed am I among women

I AM BLACK

I am black
I'm not impure
I am dark
I'm not a boor

Aren't we created by the same father?
Does colour sweeten cry?
Why claim to be better
If same soil swallows when we die?

I am black
I'm not impure
I am dark
I'm not a boor

THIS IS

This is not a love piece
Neither is it a love song
But the grease
Intended to make our love strong

This carries no love verse
Neither was it formed with such lyric
But our closeness, it's meant to nurse
And solidify like the brick

This is no rhyme
Neither is it a sonnet
But a sweet chime
That someday we'll become a unit

DEAR MOTHER

On the day of plenty
On the day many died for scanty
Your comfort, you traded first
My happiness, you nurtured next

Before voyaging the land of taking
You'll comfort me at the bay of eating
Then at night
You'll dance that I might take that flight
Mother, even angels in their divine state
Wish to dine with the same plate

On the day of plenty
On the day many died for scanty
Your comfort, you traded first
My happiness you nurtured next

A DREAM

I hate it, when you say you love me
I detest it, cause it's you I always see
Hearing you, makes me angry
You presence makes me fury
Please leave me alone
Murder, I don't want to make my own

The more you come closer
The more I grow bitter
You aren't what I need
My desire, you can't feed

Surely, this is a dream
Forever, it shall remain a dream

I MIGHT

I might not have a million
I might not be better than a pauper
With you as my companion
The wealthiest is never better

I might not be handsome
I might be worse than the ugliest
To your tent, my lady I come
Comfort I'll get, I can beat my chest

I might not be the best
The least might be better than me
Your heart, If you make for me a nest
Sail afloat, my ship shall be

I might lack the might
Definitely I'm not perfect
But I am Mr. Right
That's better, there ain't Mr. Perfect

THERE ARE WORDS

There are words not yet said
Poems not yet read
These I shall sort for you
The pain, I'm set to go through

There are words not yet used
Poems not yet fused
For you, I shall take this adventure
Its reality, I shall surely ensure

There are words not yet employed
Poems not yet alloyed
Beautiful, never enough for the unseen
Its plain, I shall erect you an inn

There are words not yet engaged
Poems not yet arranged
For you, they were being reserved
Never again shall they be conserved

IGNORE MY PRESENCE

Ignore my presence
Listen to my nonsense
Today it may possess no meaning
Some day it will affect your feeling

Ignore my presence
Listen, even if I employ wrong tense
Today it may be of no use
Some day it will surely break loose

Ignore my presence
Listening, the essence
Today you hear words
Tomorrow it may be cords

Ignore my presence
My target is your conscience
This one thing I will say
Your heart, God made his words inlay

IS LOVE WHITE OR BLACK?

I choose not to be black
You choose not to be white
Together, we should avoid being dark
Black or white, we are meant to be light

I choose not to be black
You choose not to be white
To succeed, we must be on same track
Our colour is only thing for the sight

I choose not to be black
You choose not to be white
 Is love white or black?
Is it not our purpose of being on this flight?

I choose not to be black
You choose not to be white
Together, we must amend this crack
That our chronicle may be solid and right

TEARS FOR THE LAND OF MY BIRTH 2

That land filled with unripe soldiers
That's the land of my birth
That littered with bodies of brothers
That's my nation on earth

That land you just heard the bomb
That's the land of my birth
That where incessant shelling makes you dumb
That's my nation on earth

Our sky went dark
Our waters turned red
Cannons failed not the bark
Sharp edges find no comfort at their stead

That land with unending yell
That's the land of my birth
Earth turned to hell
That's my nation on earth

TEARS FOR THE LAND OF MY BIRTH

The number keeps increasing
Soon we may lose count
For as we welcome the incoming
In dozen, new sets mount

Our future is being washed away
Our children made cause of grieve
Fearlessly they were taught to slay
'Cockroaches deserve not to live'

Behold my source
The land of my birth
Behold its course
Its present state on earth

WE ARE TIRED

We are tired
Tired of the noisy sky
The armed fly
The unending shell
The incessant quell

We are tired
Tired of the cry of an orphan
The yell of a groaning man
The sorrowful outburst of a widow
The continuous sight of unending sorrow

We are tired
Tired of the uncertainty engulfing of our future
The fear relaying in our nature
Our buried motherhood
Our demolished brotherhood

We are tired
Behold every minute
Souls dwell in the pit

SOME DAYS

Some days
Never like other days
Behold the sun
Losing its fun
And the moon
Dazzling at noon

Some days
Never like other days
Though it's night
Brighter still is the light
Opened wide is the door of the west
But its occupant ignores the comfort of its nest

Some days
Never like other days
Yesterday was rainy
Today, sunny
'Tomorrow will be cloudy'
So says the weather lady

Some days
Never like other days
All has a morning
Leading to an evening
All has a claim
Peculiar to its name

IT'S TIME TO JOURNEY

You are fifty
She is ninety
Without the ty
The apple of you eye

On her you rode
Fed her with your load
Her innocence you tore
Matched it on that tour

Her life is miserable
Her pain immeasurable
'Open and I'll follow
It's time to journey below'

MISCARRIAGE IN MARRIAGE

Eight times seven
That is her husband's age
But she is just eleven
Is that not miscarriage in marriage?

Six plus thirteen
That is her step son's age
But she is yet to be a teen
Of both, who should still be under tutelage?

Subtract two from fifty
That is his first wife's age
But she is just a year older than half of twenty
Of the two, who worth being at that stage?

WHAT CONCUBINES DON'T DO

'I am too tired darling
Go to the kitchen and make yourself comfortable'
And in the morning
Bread and tea are not on the table

'I'll be travelling to Dubai next week
I need to refill my store'
But you just came back last week
After a month's tour

Yesterday 'I am not in the mood'
Today 'I am not fit
At least it's not food
You can live without it'

LEARN TO LIVE POSITIVELY

A tooth
For a tooth
Will make the world toothless
An eye
For an eye
Will extend the reign of blindness

You got the infection from someone
So you want to pass it to everyone
That's a wrong position
Someone infected you
So all should be like you
Will open you to another infection

Can re-infect the person
Who infected your person?
No, that is impossible
You will only destroy more lives
And plant misery into family lives
For this, God will hold you responsible

Wednesday 24 July 2013

OUR STAND

'If it should remain
Press the yes button
If it is causing you pain
In you, let that rotten'

This is the voice of the masses
Let it be respected
This is our position on this crisis
It must be accepted

HER DADDY'S FRIEND

Yesterday
When she was at play
She introduced you as her daddy's friend
With joy that has no end

But today
You are willing to pay
Not for her education
But to always receive your ejaculation

TOO YOUNG

I am not ready for marriage
I am just ten
At this tender age
I should be romancing my pen

Papa please
Don't destroy my life
Look at how healthy mama is
She was ripe before you took her as wife

Monday 22 July 2013

I HAD PAID THE FEE

He laid his hand on my underwear
And brought it down without care

'Uncle, please, don't do this to me'
"I had paid your madam, the fee"

Friday 19 July 2013

TEACHER CHIKE

'In Physics' you said
'Unlike poles attract'
So you took her to the bed
And showed her how these poles react

In Chemistry
You taught, another, chemical reaction
And you went out of theory
Into the world of practicals for confirmation

Then the third was Economics
Trade by barter
And to understand it better than previous topics
Bedroom trip was the answer

Now it's Government
And you are having sleepless night
Prepare for the day of judgement
When your deed shall be brought to light

UNCLE SAM

'Uncle, please don't
You are hurting me
Mama said I mustn't
Till I cling to my true he'

'Don't mind your mama
She wants to deprive you this feeling
She enjoys same from your papa
It's painful because it's your first outing'
